Club Charity show~ Saturday 4th April 2009
The Charity club show held at Hereford sixth form college,was a complete success. The night started with dancers entertaining everyone, while the boxer were preparing themselves for there fight ahead.
The first bout of the night was a skills bout between Jacob Mcally and Ace. Both boxers showed good skill and impressed supporter with there great sportmans ship. The second bout was the debut of Aaron Smart, who put his opponent on the canvas more than Once, resulting in Aarom winning his fight. he Debut of Sarah Whistance her opponent Hollie, was a good bout, with Sarah winning the fight. The girls fought hard and being the only girl to fight, they represented female boxing respectfully. Nick Gibbon, fast footwork and hard training, allowed him to go on and win his fight, showing supporters the standard of boxing at Wye ABC. Cory gammage lead the fifth bout, with precise and strong punches he went on to win a hard and well fought bout. The senior bouts started with Nick James, who fought hard, but he unfortunately lost to his opponent. However, both boxer showed respect and good sportsmanship. The 7th bout with Tom from seniors, who unfortunately lost, hence,Tom worked hard, listening and performing the intruction Dazzo would give. Dean Evans a well kown and determine boxer fo the club, fought a hard fight, with supporter cheeering him on. He unfortunately lost the bout to his opponent. Lee from Wye ABC fought the 9th bout of the evening, he worked hard listening to Dazzo advise, which then went on to him winning the fight. Liam Craig finished the evening off with a strong and well fought bout. With it being his debut, supporters cheered him, which lead to him not only winning his fight but fight on the evening too.
Club Show at the Three Counties hotel
Friday 22nd May saw the Wye Amateur Boxing Club (WABC) based in Hinton Hereford, put on another memorable show at the Three Counties Hotel in Hereford. The audience were entertained by local singer/songwriter Aron, in the build before the boxing. First bout of the evening saw Ace Probert (WABC) step up the pace to unanimously win his bout against C.Ricketts from Downend ABC. This set the standard for Tom Whistance (WABC) who beat oponant C.Williams from Barry ABC. Bout 3 was closley fought by our own Sarah Whistance (WABC) and G.Newham of St Gerads ABC the decision on points went to G.Newman. Bout 4 and 5 went on points to Aran Smart and Nick Gibbons from (WABC). Bout 6 saw R.Jones (WABC) beaten by a very strong A.Janaind. Del Strachan Senior Coach advised "Ryan has had a fantastic season of boxing this year and was a boxer picked out by Nicky Pipper as being a name for the future, and will come back stronger after this show". Bout 7 saw M.Benton of Hereford ABC against R. Taylor of Ludlow ABC. Benton received to many punches without defending himself and eventually was disqualified by the referee. Bout 8 saw Craig Morris a classy southpaw from Ludlow ABC outwork his opponent M.Freeman from Forest Oaks ABC. Bouts 9 and 10 were won by Damian Orczk and Liam Craig of (WABC) these popular Hereford boxers outperformed their opposition, Damian was very sharp in counter punching his opponent, and all credit to both boxers as Liam Craig and his opponent Mark Roe Ludlow ABC received bout of the evening from club sponsor Haywood Demolition Ltd. The heavyweights ended the show with a bruising win going to Will Haywood of Ludlow ABC.
It was a fantastic night of boxing enjoyed by all, and it was great to see Brummie Stokes from taste for adventure in attendance, presenting trophies and supporting the grass-roots of Hereford boxing, as well as our very own Champion Dazzo Williams there supporting and guiding all his boxers..
Congratulations to all of the Wye ABC staff, who worked very hard to make this event happen!
